There are the cars, of course. The speed, the engineering, the history. But wander away form the track and there’s another story unfolding everywhere you look.

Mechanics at work. Drivers waiting. Oil-stained overalls and immaculate tailoring. People arriving dressed for another decade. Quiet moments in the paddock between all the noise.

I spent three days photographing the event for Howden Classic - a classic car insurance company - following whatever caught my eye.
